Meet “The Gang”
These are the worst people you will ever see on TV.
Sunny (as I will be calling it from now on since I’m too lazy to type out the whole title) has been called the modern day Seinfeld, in the sense that it is also a show about nothing.
If you’ve never seen Seinfeld, then you have no idea what I’m talking about…also I hate you.
George has earned the right to say this.

To summarize, “a show about nothing” really has no driving plot and tends to follow the characters of the show and the minutia of their daily lives.

And while Seinfeld‘s characters were “the worst” by 90’s standards, “the gang” in Sunny cranks that shit up to 11.
So instead of a synopsis as I usually do, I’m gonna talk about each of the characters, starting with the three original characters and creators of the show; Charlie, Mac, and Dennis.

Charlie Kelly

Charlie was the co-owner at Paddy’s Pub, but traded all his stocks for “goods and services”, half a sandwich, and other undisclosed reasons. Charlie does most of the actual work and maintenance (referred to as “Charlie Work”) at the pub. “Charlie Work” includes cleaning urinals, blood stuff, your basic slimes, your sludges, anything dying or decaying, he’s on it.
Charlie is illiterate and frequently huffs paint, glue, and other miscellaneous substances.
Charlie is delusional and borderline insane. Yet despite these traits, Charlie is probably the nicest member of The Gang. (Yeah, it’s all downhill from here…)

Ronald “Mac” McDonald

This is gonna be a weird one to write but here goes…
Mac is a co-owner of Paddy’s Pub. He is Charlie’s childhood friend and Dennis’ high school friend. The son of a convicted felon who has been in prison for much of Mac’s life, he frequently attempts to demonstrate his toughness and refers to himself as the “sheriff of Paddy’s”.
Mac is a Roman Catholic and often expresses strong, if not radical, Christian opinions. It is also frequently implied, and later proven, that he is gay.

Dennis Reynolds

Dennis is a co-owner of Paddy’s Pub and is Dee’s twin brother. He is easily the most sociopathic, if not downright psychotic, member of the gang.
I couldn’t pick which one was crazier…
Dennis is abrasive, narcissistic, selfish, and vain; all culminating with his method for seducing women, which he refers to as the D.E.N.N.I.S. system.

Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds

Dee is Dennis’ twin sister and is the main bartender at Paddy’s Pub. Dee wants to be an actress, although she lacks any apparent talent and suffers from debilitating stage fright.
She is also constantly referred to as a bird due to the gang’s perception of her as a giant, bird-like creature. She is usually disregarded by the others and often the center of ridicule for the rest of the group.

Frank Reynolds

You know, I’ve already written a lot for this blog so I’m just gonna put these here for his explanation.
The show isn’t for everyone, some seem to be appalled by the grotesque nature of the characters as well as their general horribleness…but those people are soft and don’t understand comedy…
The show is gold.
