Even he’s not mad at that one…

The Sandlot, the ultimate summer movie for any kid who had basic hand eye coordination or wanted to fit in. (Bet you can’t guess which one the kid writing a movie blog is…)
If you haven’t seen The Sandlot, then please stop reading this and go watch it right now. I’m serious. I know the point of this post is meant to convince you to watch the movie, but I’m just make jokes from the movie the entire time and if you haven’t seen it…well you’re probably already lost…
And it’s what you are if you haven’t seen this movie…

So a brief synopsis since most of you have already seen it. Smalls is the new kid in town with no friends and an overly judgmental step-father played by Dennis Leary. (Yeah, the guy from Rescue Me) So in order to make the kid less of a loser, his step-father attempts to teach him how to play baseball. It doesn’t go well. But don’t worry, The Jet meets Smalls and takes him under his wing to introduce him to the sandlot and the gang.

I’m so sorry this is pixelated…

So after some summer hijinks…

The man’s a legend…

And some of the greatest insults ever laid down in the sport of baseball…

With “You ain’t fit to lick the dirt off my cleats” in a close second

The gang accepts Smalls as one of their own. However, in a feeble attempt to maintain significance in the group, Smalls loses his step-Leary’s prize possession, an autographed ball by the Great Bambino himself.

Yeah I went and downloaded this one YouTube, SUE ME!
No but seriously please don’t I have no money…
So more hijinks ensue in order to get the ball back to no avail. And just when Smalls is ready to confess and be a quitter. (Remember kids, never confess to doing something wrong, always try to find a way out of it…) The Jet pulls off one of the greatest rescues and subsequent chase scenes ever put on film.
Man I had to go look for this one, it’s not even on YouTube
Wait…are there still people here who haven’t seen this movie?? What the hell are you doing reading this? Go watch it, you’re already a disgrace for not having seen it…
To summarize, this movie is phenomenal. Right up there with The Little Rascals, but better in my opinion…(I will debate that till I die.) It is a perfect coming of age story that I believe will stick around…
I’m sorry, it was just too easy

If you like the Flashback Friday theme I think I might stick with it for now, or maybe do Throwback Thursday…I don’t know which is still significant…
